Live verse: Psalms 118:17-18 NIV
I’ve been in logistics since I was 16 years old. I have been behind the wheel and handle bars most of my life. I did serve in the Air Force for 10 years predominantly in Japan. My life has only improved by leaps and bounds since I became a part of this family here and letting God take total control of my life.

I am a retired mother of four children who are all grown up. I needed something in my life that could use up some of my free time and provide a rewarding purpose as well. Well, Twelve Baskets has fulfilled both of these goals. I have been involved with Twelve Baskets before the pantry doors opened. It fills my heart with joy to be able to be a part of such a great organization. I love that it helps people in their time of need in our community. I have met some wonderful people who have come to us for help with putting food on their table. Now, they are helping us by volunteering. It's like a family and I truly love them all. I am truly blessed to be a part of Twelve Baskets, where we value inspiring hope, dignity, and self-respect

I have been with Twelve Baskets from day 1. For the first few years I worked with the pantry and did many duties there. When the Free Store came into existence that became my main focus. Working with the many volunteers over the years has been a blessing. Helping our shoppers find much needed items for their daily life has made a big impact on my life. Twelve Baskets Food Pantry and Free Store has truly been a blessing to volunteers and clients.

As a child care professional of 40 years, I retired in 2014. I was looking for some place to volunteer and something worth while to do. My dear friend, Robin, told me about Twelve Baskets and all they are doing to STOMP OUT HUNGER in our area. It is so fulfilling to be a part of helping so many in need and working with so many special volunteers. I feel blessed that they have chosen me to be a Board Member and Volunteer Coordinator.

My passion is to serve and help others. It’s a rewarding feeling to know that households in our community can have access to free food and misc. products. “Dear Children, let’s not merely Say that we Love each other: Let us show the truth by Actions.” 1 John 3:18

For as long as I can remember, I have enjoyed serving the Lord Jesus Christ through serving people. My mother raised me in a context of generosity and hard work, and I have lived that out as best I could. I have been married for 42 years and have four grown children and sixteen grandchildren. I have been in a season of sadness and God used the work at the pantry to pull me up and give me hope. As I serve others, I, myself am filled with delight and joy. Filling hungry bellies has been the work of my life and I look forward to serving the community along with my 12-Baskets family for many years to come.

My heart has always called me to volunteer and serve. I have a BA in Management and Organizational Development, and a lifelong career in Retail and Real Estate Management. I have always used my talents to volunteer, most notably 14 years on a City Downtown Development Authority Board. I feel extremely blessed to be a part of this organization whose mission is to feed the insecure in our community, and whose core of volunteers are the best of the best.

Tami Leffingwell – Client Services Manager with Mercer Advisors. Whether out in the community I was born and raised in, at my office or serving as a board member for Twelve Baskets, I believe God has called us to be the hands and feet of Jesus. We are Christs ambassadors and should reflect the love our Savior has for us. It is a privilege to serve others alongside my Twelve Baskets Family by meeting their physical needs and in doing so, it honors God who loves all of His children unconditionally. “For as the body apart from the spirit is dead, so also faith apart from works is dead” James 2:26
