Plastics Recycling Program adopted at Twelve Baskets
In the spirit of reducing waste wherever we can, Twelve Baskets is now recycling plastic bags and films in the NexTrex program hosted by Meijer, and we invite our community to join in! When you recycle your plastic film with NexTrex, not only are you helping to keep thousands of pounds of waste out of landfills, you’re also helping Trex to continue to make eco-friendly outdoor products. As an added bonus, the pantry can earn credits toward a Trex bench for our pantry front yard!
Collection is already underway at the pantry, where many bulk items arrive shrink-wrapped. Community members may drop off CLEAN plastics and films per the list below M-F from 9 to 11:30 at the pantry, or anytime in the donation box located at the front corner of the pantry at 10332 Portage Rd.
please note items that cannot be recycled
TB VOLUNTEERS—the collection box, pictured below, is under the bulletin board near the coffee station. Thank you for collecting case overwrap and other eligible plastics during your shift and depositing them in this box.
Thank you to our very dedicated volunteer, Georgia Boyle, who initiated and is facilitating this program!
