Community Store

Community Store

Our Community Store offers a wide variety of donated clean, new and gently used clothing, household items, toys, and personal care items that are discount-priced to help us raise funds to operate and maintain our pantry and property. New items are priced 75% or more off retail and many items are available for as low as $1. One hundred percent of store proceeds are used to support our main mission—lessening hunger in our local community. Our inventory usually includes:

    • Clothing for adults and children, sorted by size
    • Footwear
    • Jackets and winter clothing, snow pants, gloves, mittens, hats, etc.
    • Kitchen small appliances, dishes, utensils, etc.
    • Blankets and sheets
    • Toys and games that include all playing pieces
    • Over-the-counter medications (sealed, unexpired)
    • Adult diapers
    • Children’s diapers (when available)
    • Other items as available, such as female hygiene products, shampoo/conditioner, laundry soap, decorations, etc.

We are unable to accept donations on Fridays/Saturdays. We accept donations of the following items in clean and reusable condition: clothing, accessories, shoes, toys, personal care items, housewares/kitchen, sports, jewelry, and collectibles. We cannot take large furniture, appliances, mattresses or any broken, soiled items. To expedite processing (all handled by volunteers), kindly sort clothing into Men’s, Women’s, and Children’s categories, with items clean and folded. Donations for the Community Store cannot be dropped off at the pantry or during pantry distribution due to volunteer and capacity limitations. See schedule on our website calendar.

about the community store

In line with our mission to help those in need meet basic food and living needs, on June 7, 2025 we opened a Community Store and its donation drop-off in our newly renovated space at 10330 Portage Rd. To help provide ongoing financial support for the pantry and reflective of the high quality of items that are donated, we transitioned our retail efforts from a hybrid free store/boutique model to a Community Store model.
